restaurant vip engine // second scoped offer

# Fill slow nights with a guest list you own.

A managed QR-to-SMS guest list for restaurants in Greenville, Spartanburg and across Upstate SC. We set up the signup path, write and schedule approved campaigns, and monitor delivery and opt-outs. Your team approves the rewards, handles redemption and owns guest service. Repeat visits need to be measured, not assumed.

## From a table tent to a recorded return visit.

Illustrative program for a fictional Example Bistro. The sample screens and figures below do not enroll guests, send messages or represent restaurant results.

01 / Sample table-tent copy

### Enjoyed your visit?

Join Example Bistro’s VIP list for occasional offers and birthday treats.

In the actual setup, the printed QR code opens the restaurant’s approved signup page. Scanning alone does not subscribe a guest.

02 / Sample signup screen — read-only

Before joining

Program frequency, message/data rates, STOP and HELP instructions, and links to program terms and privacy information

Final wording and consent records are reviewed for the selected provider and program before launch.

03 / Sample campaign — subject to the restaurant’s approval

> Example Bistro VIP: Share a free house dessert with two dinner entrées, September 15–17. Show DESSERT17 before paying. Dine-in; one per table; cannot combine with other offers. Reply STOP to opt out.

The owner approves the offer cost, availability, dates and eligible audience before a send. Staff must know the terms before guests arrive.

### 04 / Staff redemption steps

1. Check the code, dates and qualifying order.
2. Apply the approved offer using the agreed POS or manual process.
3. Record one redemption with date, campaign code and any known first/return-visit status.
4. Flag unclear terms or unavailable items for the owner.

No automatic POS integration is assumed.

### 05 / What the report distinguishes

Example only: 120 message attempts, 108 reported delivered, 4 failed and 8 still pending or unknown. Staff recorded 7 redemptions.

Seven redemptions do not establish seven extra visits. Delivery status, new signups, opt-outs, offer cost and recorded visits remain separate fields.

[Download the sample campaign report (CSV)](<https://efficientautomate.com/assets/resources/restaurant-campaign-report-20260913.csv>).

Use the [return-visit guidance](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#return-visits>) and [reply-support checks](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#guest-replies>) when planning your program. Ordinary guest questions need a confirmed contact route; campaign management does not include a staffed reservation desk.

// a reason to return

## Our social posts get attention. Can this help bring guests back?

First identify where business is being lost: too few people discovering the restaurant, difficulty finding the menu or booking, or guests not returning. This managed SMS program focuses on inviting consenting guests back with a useful offer. Your team approves the offer and handles redemption and guest service.

For example, a birthday invitation or an offer for a quieter shift can give guests a reason to return. These are campaign ideas, not promised results. Review [which messages to send and how often](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#campaign-cadence>), record [actual redemptions](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#restaurant-measurement>), and compare the [full cost with contribution from additional visits](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#payback>). A redemption alone does not prove an additional visit.

// how the engine works

## How does a table tent start a guest relationship?

1. ### Guest scans the QR tent

   A printed table tent offers a signup reward — a free appetizer works — and opens a mobile signup page branded to the restaurant.
2. ### Thirty-second signup with explicit consent

   Name, mobile number, optional email and birthday, and a clear consent checkbox. No consent, no message — ever.
3. ### The signup triggers a voucher text

   Delivery depends on the messaging provider and carrier. Once received, the guest shows the text to their server to claim the reward. Duplicate signups get a friendly already-on-the-list reply instead of a second freebie.
4. ### The list grows every service

   Every consented guest lands in a list the restaurant owns and can inspect — not an algorithm’s audience.
5. ### Send a reason to return

   A scheduled message — a Monday special, an event, a birthday treat — goes only to consented, not-opted-out numbers, at most about once a week.

Every automated path has documented stop conditions: STOP and equivalent replies end messaging for that guest immediately, and the list filters them out of every future send. The same engine adapts to salons, barbers, gyms — any walk-in business. See the animated walkthrough in the [workflow demonstration below](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#workflow>).

// software and responsibility

## If we already use Square or Toast, why pay for managed SMS?

You may not need another service. If your POS marketing tools meet your needs and someone on your team can run them consistently, start there. [Square documents scheduled campaigns, welcome messages and birthday coupons](<https://squareup.com/us/en/software/marketing/sms>); [Toast documents SMS campaigns and selected automated audiences](<https://support.toasttab.com/en/article/SMS-Marketing-FAQ>). Automation alone is not a unique reason to buy this offer.

The managed offer pays for defined work: signup setup, campaign copy and scheduling, list management and delivery monitoring. Compare that work with the staff time and software you already have. If email or an existing loyalty program already brings guests back, decide what SMS would add before starting another list.

This is a separately scoped service. A Square or Toast integration is not promised. Before adding another tool, confirm how signup records, opt-outs and redemptions will be handled; do not run overlapping campaigns without a shared plan.

// pricing and scope

## What does $297 a month cover?

### Included in setup

Branded signup page, printable QR table tents, the messaging workflows, a dedicated texting number, and provider-specific opt-out handling configured and tested before launch.

### Included monthly

Campaign scheduling and copy, list management, birthday sends, delivery monitoring, and 1,000 texts each month. The founder runs it — there is no outsourced support desk yet.

### Outside the fee

Text volume beyond the included 1,000 passes through at carrier cost. Paid advertising, food photography, and general marketing stay out of scope.

### After the founding three

The standard rate is $397/month. Founding restaurants keep $297/month for as long as the engagement stays active.

Compare the fee with contribution from genuinely additional visits after food, rewards and other variable costs. Include setup, extra messaging and staff time over the same period. The [payback worksheet](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#payback>) below shows the arithmetic without assuming a campaign will create those visits.

## What can we prove before you buy?

No restaurant results are claimed yet. You can inspect the [workflow demonstration below](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#workflow>), labeled as an illustrative simulation, and the [restaurant measurement definitions below](<https://efficientautomate.com/restaurants/#restaurant-measurement>). The demo does not prove delivery speed, repeat visits or profit. Any future customer results need supporting records and permission to publish.

// message allowance

## Does 1,000 texts mean 1,000 customers?

No. It is a monthly messaging allowance, not a customer limit. Sending four campaigns to 300 guests creates 1,200 recipient sends before welcome vouchers or birthday messages. A longer message may use multiple billable SMS segments; [Twilio explains how length and encoding affect segments](<https://www.twilio.com/docs/glossary/what-sms-character-limit>). That is a billing example, not a statement that this offer uses Twilio.

Before activation, the written scope must identify the actual provider, what counts toward the included 1,000 texts, how automated and inbound traffic is counted, and the itemized overage rate. Extra usage passes through at carrier cost without markup. Those provider-specific billing details are not yet published here, so this worksheet estimates units, not an invoice.

On a narrow screen, swipe the table sideways to see every column.

### Try a monthly message budget

  Example: 300 recipients × 4 campaigns × 1 unit + 100 other units = 1,300 units; 300 above the 1,000-unit planning allowance.

Assumes each campaign reaches the same number of recipients. Enter other traffic in billable units, not contacts. Length, encoding and provider rules can change the units; no overage dollar rate is assumed. Calculations stay in your browser.

// the costs and the evidence

## How many additional visits cover the full cost?

Use contribution per genuinely additional visit: the extra sale minus food, the signup or campaign reward, and other costs caused by that visit. A $25 check is not $25 available to cover marketing. A redemption also does not prove the guest would have stayed home without the message.

For a hypothetical $10 contribution per additional visit, the $297 subscription alone requires 30 extra visits per month. The three-month minimum plus $500 setup is $1,391 at the founding rate: 140 additional visits at $10 each, before extra messaging and other operating costs. These are arithmetic examples, not a margin estimate or forecast.

### Try your own payback assumptions

  Example: $1,391 over 3 months, including $500 setup. At $10 contribution, 140 genuinely additional visits would cover those costs.

The $500 setup is included once. Extra monthly costs start at $0 as an assumption; add every applicable cost. Subtract reward and visit-related costs from contribution, without counting them twice. Calculations stay in your browser.

The example above works without JavaScript. Enable JavaScript to try your own inputs.

### What can we measure before claiming a result?

- **Activity:** consented signups, recipient sends, delivery states, failures and opt-outs over a stated period.
- **Redemption:** a staff-recorded offer redemption linked to its campaign, where that record exists. A send or delivery is not a visit.
- **Incremental contribution:** a separate estimate using actual costs and a documented comparison, such as a suitable holdout or baseline. Seasonality, existing regulars and other promotions can affect the result.

If redemption or comparison records are missing, report the activity that is known and leave additional visits and profit unclaimed. No restaurant customer outcomes are published yet.

// consent, cadence and quiet hours

## How often should we text without annoying guests?

The current offer caps promotional sends at about one per week, scheduled at useful hours, never late at night. That is a ceiling, not a quota or a claim that weekly is optimal for every restaurant. Plan welcome and birthday messages alongside campaigns so a guest does not receive overlapping offers.

### A reason to visit

An approved Monday special with clear dates and redemption terms, sent early enough to plan dinner. Skip it when there is no useful offer.

### A relevant occasion

An event invitation or an agreed birthday offer, using only the information the guest chose to provide. Avoid adding another promotion to the same guest that week.

Review delivery failures, opt-outs and recorded redemptions after each campaign. Reduce or pause sends when the audience response calls for it. STOP and equivalent opt-outs end messaging for that guest; suppression applies to later campaigns and automations.

// joining this program

## Can we use an old customer, booking or loyalty list?

No. This offer refuses imported and purchased lists outright, including an existing booking or POS export. A phone number collected for a reservation is not, by itself, permission for this messaging program.

Guests join through the restaurant’s signup path and explicitly choose the program using its consent checkbox. Existing customers can make that choice too; their old records are not bulk-enrolled. Review the signup wording and recorded consent before the first send.

// reply support and ownership

## Can guests reply, and who answers their questions?

Ordinary two-way guest replies depend on the selected messaging setup and are not a confirmed feature of this offer yet. Opt-out handling does not prove that questions about reservations, allergies or opening hours reach a monitored inbox. For example, [Toast currently says ordinary campaign replies are unavailable](<https://support.toasttab.com/en/article/SMS-Marketing-FAQ>); platforms differ.

### Confirm before launch

Test an ordinary reply separately from STOP. Document whether it reaches an inbox, the restaurant person who owns it, the hours they monitor it and the published contact route when replies are unavailable.

### Campaign work has a boundary

The monthly scope covers campaign management and delivery monitoring. It does not include a staffed reservation or customer-service desk. Reply coverage must be explicitly agreed before asking guests to message back.

// common questions

## Questions before choosing a restaurant SMS service.

**What does texting cost beyond the included 1,000 messages?**

The allowance is monthly messaging usage, not 1,000 customers or unlimited campaigns. Extra usage is passed through at carrier cost with no markup and itemized on the invoice. The written scope must confirm the provider, billable unit, included traffic and actual overage rate before activation; no universal per-message price is quoted here.

**Is the $297 founding rate really locked?**

Yes, for the first three restaurants, for as long as the engagement stays active. The standard rate afterward is $397 a month, published here in advance so nobody discovers it later.

**What happens when a guest replies STOP?**

Automated messaging for that guest ends immediately, the list filters them out of every future send, and the carrier enforces its own block on top. No exceptions, no re-adds without a fresh signup.

**Does this only work for restaurants?**

The engine adapts to any walk-in business — salons, barbers, gyms — with the offer and copy swapped. The founding cohort is restaurants first because the table tent makes the signup moment so natural.
